During my decades’ career in teaching, senior-level school administration, and counseling, in 2014 I also gained comprehensive training through IECA and soon thereafter founded Szegvari Educational Consulting. I loved my work in school settings but also wanted to build a business where families could find respite from the stress and “noise” associated with the college search and application process and ultimately receive support in a way that was unique to them and their family’s needs.
My background in education was the perfect match. As a teacher and counselor, I was able to meet each of my students and their families where they were.
Since that time, I have taken pride in building trusting and supportive relationships where students explore their interests and their values, and I have been able to help them effectively engage in the “work”.
I am an avid researcher and love to dive deeply into the amazing possibilities that await this generation. As a result of hundreds of college visits, careful analysis of data, and frequent professional development within IECA and beyond, I continue to guide my families with in-depth, accurate information and support that is targeted to their needs.

Get To Know Me Better
When not working, you can find me outdoors hiking a nearby trail or tending to my perennial gardens. These peony bushes hold a special place in my heart as I transplanted them from my childhood home in CT where they had grown for over fifty years. They seem to like their new garden bed in MA!
I am inspired by the wonders of our oceans and find every opportunity to explore local and distant waters with my husband and our two adult children (when they can make it). This special bay in Baja, Mexico is one spot where California gray whales come to calve. I spent a magical three days among them as I watched them tend to their young and prepare them for their journey back north.
